These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on NEMDA Member Forums. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.
All users of the NEMDA Website and message boards must agree to abide by the NEMDA Code of Internet Behavior.
NEMDA CODE OF INTERNET BEHAVIOR
I understand this is not a place to discuss politics, people or practice free speech. I understand that a healthy exchange of opinions; and disagreements are okay. If I disagree with a member's post or opinion I may indeed challenge the opinion, however, any challenge will be given with a sense of respect.
If I do challenge others' points of view and opinions, I will do so thoughtfully without insult and personal attack. I will not harass, libel, or defame others. Nor will I engage in offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing behavior in this Internet Community. I will do no name-calling, I will not insult others, I will not "flame" or use obscenities. It does not matter whether I believe something to be true or false, nasty is nasty and I will not participate.
I will not engage in intentional personal attacks, which may lead to others being reluctant or fearful of participation in the NEMDA Entlebucher Internet Community and attempts by anyone else in the Community to do so will not be tolerated by me.
I understand that all material posted on this forum becomes secondary property of NEMDA and may be used by the club, sold or given away to benefit the club or the breed.
I understand that the purpose of this Internet Code of Behavior is to establish an Internet environment where all fans of the Entlebucher may learn, participate, and share without prejudice or fear.
Suspension Levels for the Message Board and Internet Services
The exclusion of community members is probably of the most powerful option the moderation team has for a user that does not follow our communities’ rules. We have a three level suspension system:
LEVEL 1: 1 week suspension: We use this when a user has violated the Forum rules.
LEVEL 2: 2 month suspension: This is used for users with one prior offense in the past 12 months.
LEVEL 3: Permanent suspension: This is for users who have had a second offense within a12 month period.
Suspension Procedure for the Message Board and Club Internet Services
In an effort to make it fair to all users, the following procedure will be used to suspend a user from the NEMDA message board:
User accounts can be frozen for a maximum of 24 hours in order to take action. There must be two moderators to attest to the offense by email or other written means. The information will be sent to Club Secretary within 48 hours of the offense. If a club member is involved in a third offense the Board of Directors and/or the Grievance Committee must review the case and set the suspension Reinstatement Procedure
A suspended user must do the following in order to regain access to the message board.
Wait the appropriate suspension time.
Send a signed statement saying they will follow the forum rules to the Board of Directors.
NOTES: The message board is operated and owned by the NEMDA and as such, violations of the code of ethics by club members as witnessed on this forum may be grounds for suspension from NEMDA. All material posted on this forum becomes secondary property of the NEMDA and may be used, sold or given away to benefit the club or the breed. #
